John "Johnny" Ramirez

John Johnny Ramirez USA Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Council

Johnny is a BJJ Black Belt under Rodrigo Medeiros and Carlson Gracie. He is heavily active in the USA Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Council and is currently working on the official USAJJ Curriculum.

Along with John Veloso Ouano, Johnny founded the New Breed Academy in 2002. Today, the Academy has 5 affiliate schools in the US and overseas, and the New Breed Team is filled with heaviest names in the Jiu Jitsu world.

Johnny's dedication to teaching Jiu Jitsu efficiently and effectively is one of the reasons he was attracted to USA Jiu Jitsu. Currently, his leadership is a fundamental part of the USAJJ Instructor Training Course, conducting all practical parts of the course.

  • 2nd Place - III Pac. Northwest BJJ Championship (No Gi) Advanced & Absolute (Jan 2007)
  • 3rd Place - First No Gi World Championship (Dec 2007)
  • 2nd Place - CA. State Championships of Sub. Grappling (Dec 2006)
  • U.S. BJJ National Team Member 2003 & 2004 (U.S. vs Brazil)
