What is the benefit of the insurance?

If you have a school, you know accidents can and will happen. No matter how carefully you train your students, eventually, someone will get hurt. As a member of USAJJ though, you and your school are protected, as well as your students and staff.

How does the insurance protect me?

It will protect you from any claims of bodily injury, property damage, and the litigation costs to defend against such claims. If someone gets injured because of something you or your staff did, then the insurance will cover it. It can also protect you at tournaments, if you register the event with the insurance company.

However, if it is an accidental injury, meaning no one is at fault, the student will not be covered unless they too are a member of USAJJ with insurance. See the insurance page for exact coverage amounts.

How will being a member help my business?

As a member, you will be part of our National School Directory, which helps students find schools in their area. We also feature news and events about our schools on our homepage, spreading the word better than word of mouth alone.

Plus, we are always trying to strengthen industry partnerships, which will allow you to reduce overhead costs and help a new school grow more easily.

What else can you do for me?

First of all, you will be part of a recognized, 501(c)(3) non-profit, national Jiu Jitsu organization, which will only further expand your credentials, and shows you are a credible choice to new students.

Secondly, as a member, you will be able to participate in our Instructor Training Course, and will be able to send the instructor of your choice to one of our development courses for free. Our training program is designed to educate instructors on how to teach Jiu Jitsu at all skill levels. Upon completion, an instructor will be certified by USAJJ.

Plus, we have already established a curriculum which you will be free to adopt and shape for your own purposes.

What about the Black belt Council?

The Black Belt council is a way for the leaders of our sport in this country to join together and have a say in the future direction of the sport. It is currently open to all black belts who are members of USAJJ.
